These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Mava Tax website, secure client portal, and related online features operated by Mava Tax and Accounting Solutions Inc. (“Mava Tax,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By accessing the website, creating an account, or using an online service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the website or portal. Additional engagement letters, authorizations, and service-specific terms may apply to professional services. If those terms conflict with these website terms, the service-specific agreement will govern for that service.

The website provides general information and tools for communicating with Mava Tax, requesting services, scheduling appointments, completing questionnaires, exchanging documents, and managing client interactions.

Website content is for general informational purposes and is not tax, accounting, legal, investment, or financial advice. Accessing the website or submitting information does not, by itself, create a professional-client relationship. A professional relationship begins only when Mava Tax confirms an engagement under mutually accepted terms.

You agree to:

• provide complete, current, and accurate information;
• review submissions, filings, and documents when requested and promptly report errors or changes;
• maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials and authentication codes;
• use secure methods designated by Mava Tax for transmitting sensitive information;
• ensure you have authority to provide information relating to another person, dependent, business, or organization;
• comply with applicable laws, filing deadlines, professional requests, and these terms; and
• notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access or misuse.

You are responsible for activity conducted through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable safeguards.

The website, portal interface, branding, logos, designs, text, graphics, software, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to Mava Tax and are protected by intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the website for your personal or internal business purposes. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit website materials without prior written permission, except where applicable law expressly permits it.

You retain ownership of documents and information you submit. You grant us the rights reasonably necessary to host, process, copy, transmit, and use that material to provide services, operate the portal, comply with law, and fulfill our professional obligations.

You must not:

• use the website for unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, abusive, or unauthorized purposes;
• upload malicious code, unlawful material, or content that infringes another person’s rights;
• attempt to bypass authentication, permissions, security controls, rate limits, or access restrictions;
• probe, scan, disrupt, overload, scrape, or interfere with the website or its infrastructure;
• access another user’s account or information without authorization;
• misrepresent your identity, authority, affiliation, or the accuracy of submitted information; or
• use automated systems to extract content or data without written permission.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website and online services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that access will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or compatible with every device or browser.

General website information may become outdated and should not be relied upon as a substitute for advice based on your specific circumstances. Tax outcomes and government processing times depend on individual facts, applicable law, agency decisions, and information supplied by you or third parties.

Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or conditions that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Mava Tax and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the website, including loss of data, revenue, opportunity, or goodwill.

Our aggregate liability arising from the website or these terms will not exceed the greater of CAD $100 or the amount you paid specifically for the online service giving rise to the claim during the preceding twelve months. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.

You may stop using the website at any time. You may request account closure, subject to record-retention, outstanding engagement, security, and legal requirements.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users or systems, investigate suspected misuse, comply with law, address unpaid obligations under a separate engagement, or enforce these terms. Provisions that by their nature should continue after termination—including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law—will survive.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Subject to any mandatory rights or agreed dispute-resolution process, the courts of Ontario will have jurisdiction over disputes relating to these terms or the website.

We may update these terms to reflect changes in services, technology, risk, or legal requirements. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised date.

For material changes, we may provide additional notice through the website, portal, or email. Continued use after the effective date of revised terms constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
